Paths 01:27
I’ll follow you down any path you lead I’ll follow you down any path you go
2.
Sit and watch the day rise Someone tell the moon to move along And we are non-communicardo Grudges forever holding on, but it was so long ago And it was wasted We were out of time in the end Great expectations You’ve been let down by better men than me Do you remember when we moved you State highway one, hour by hour And your dad was so dismissive Funny how you’re the same way now, the same way now And it was wasted We were out of time in the end Great expectations I didn’t know what we had then And it was wasted We were out of time in the end Great expectations The kids weren’t ready, yeah we weren’t ready And no one’s coming out of this clean Are we the ones that got away? And no one’s coming back to this scene It was a one act play, ‘cause we wrote it that way And it was wasted We were out of time in the end Great expectations You’ve been let down by better men And it was wasted We were out of time in the end Great expectations I didn’t know what we had then And it was wasted We were out of time in the end Yeah it was wasted The kids weren’t ready, yeah we weren’t ready The kid’s weren’t ready and we were not ready

Spider Bite 04:26
Can I catch a ride To the other side of this world? Don’t want to stick around And watch it all go down You know that no one cares That’s how we ended up in this mess But I believe in you You mostly tell the truth The light is shining through The voices calling you And I can’t take you anywhere I think you’re scared to death I think you’re faking it And I can’t take you anywhere There’s a place I’ve seen With no one else inside of my dreams I’d like to get there soon Baby, will you come too? The light is shining through The voices calling you And I can’t take you anywhere I think you’re scared to death I think you’re faking this And I can’t take you anywhere I see you and you see me We cut a path through the evergreens Feel the sand beneath our feet, and I don’t know where we are I see you and you see me We cut a path through the evergreens Feel the snow beneath our feet, and I don’t know where we are I see you and you see me We cut a path through the evergreens Feel the sand beneath our feet, and I don’t care where we are

Ghosts 04:39
Sunlight filters in the morning I have walked with you again I have seen all that I need And I’ve seen you in my dreams I’ve seen more than this We are lying in the long grass Late day sun as winter comes I reach out the gift of your hand And I’ve seen you in my dreams I’ve seen more than most And I’ve seen worlds without me And I am living here with your ghost I have seen the paintings hidden I have read your poet songs You let me inside of your mind And I’ve seen you in my dreams I’ve seen more than most And I’ve seen worlds without me And I am living here with your ghost You are standing on the staircase You are staring back at me I know when you’re in the chair And I’ve see you in my dreams I’ve seen more than most And I’ve seen worlds without me And I am living here with your ghost

Viva Voce 03:18
Was that all the time allowed Take your pen and set it down I have always known you Wind whispered words on a dream Did we never really meet I have always known you Was it just something we said Not meant to be kept bouncing round in our head I always knew what you meant I always knew What you meant when you said In the right shade of light I can almost see you smile I have always known you And I have always known who you are And I have always known who you are

Please don’t tell me what I’m thinking Jacquard coats on a carpeted ceiling Your underground, is it velvet or paisley Patchwork hat that I bought in Johnson City Caught some shit from the local vocal bogans I can’t breathe for the smoke that they’re blowing And I want to be with you Sun on skin will warm me through And I know I, I’m not the same And you will find someone else to blame When you go back, when you go back When you go And I want to be with you Sun on skin will warm me through And I know I, I’m not the same And you will find someone else to blame Please don’t tell me what I’m feeling Saragon, get it on, the tape is squealing Took some shit from the local student body Condescension is a pill served up freely I can’t talk for the smoke I am breathing And I want to be with you Sun on skin will warm me through And I know I, I’m not the same And you have found someone else And I want to be with you Watch you laugh when I do too And I know I, I’m not the same And you’ll have found someone else to blame When you go back, when you go back When you go And I want to be with you Sun on skin will warm me through And I know I, I’m not the same And you’ll have found someone else to blame And I want to be with you Sun on skin will warm me through And I know I, I’m not the same And you have found someone else to blame

Even now I still look for you I still hear your voice Calling out Calling me From another room I still hear your voice Floating on the breeze Baby, where’d you go? In this house I still talk to you I still hear your voice Calling out Calling me From another room I still hear your voice Floating on the breeze Baby, where’d you go? Baby, where’d you go? Baby, where’d you go?

Drive until the lights are shining way in-front of you Watch them flicker in the dark We weren’t lost then , we just had nowhere else to go Sometimes the choices aren’t so hard On the hills above the port the ships lights fade from view Tomorrow they’ll be somewhere else This is all we’ve got tonight, there’s nowhere left to go Sometimes the choices aren’t so hard And I’ve seen, what you’ve seen, and we are blameless Listening in the dark to shadows dancing on the walls We don’t know yet who we are We’ll see our future selves in them and wonder what went wrong Sometimes the choices aren’t so stark And I’ve seen, what you’ve seen, and we aren’t blameless Do you remember, do you know the way Do you remember, nothing looks the same Do you remember, i’m not interested in blame Do you remember, I think we’re lost today I think we’ve lost our way I think we’re lost today
9.
There’ll be a time when this room is empty And you will be here with just your memories I’m in the garden The house is cold but I am not so old, my love The house is cold but I am not so old And on my bookcase you’ll find my letters And in a folder I left directions I’m in the garden The house is cold but I am not so old, my love The house is cold but I am not so old The house is cold but I am not so old, my love The house is cold but I am not so old The house is cold but I am not so old, my love The house is cold but I am not so old Baby there you are, you are here with me I know you feel alone, but you have never been Baby there you are, you are here with me You are not alone, and you will never be.

Two Truths 05:37
I’ve heard everything about you I’ve heard it is mostly lies I know you are not the answer Don’t make me question if you tried ‘cause you don’t try We’re playing two truths and a lie and I can’t remember what it was I told you Can you even look me in the eye Don’t laugh ‘cause I might cry if I told you There are truths buried in this plaster These walls are where they came to die You’ll take all your secrets with you I’ll hang mine scattered out to dry But they won’t fly We’re playing two truths and a lie and I can’t remember what it was I told you Can you even look me in the eye Don’t laugh ‘cause I might cry if I told you I’ll find my I’ll find my own I’ll find my own way home How do you get so good at silence? Are you at peace within your head By now you know all the answers I know that we will not be friends ‘cause I won’t try We’re playing two truths and a lie and I can’t remember what it was I told you Can you even look me in the eye Don’t laugh ‘cause I might cry if I told you I’ll find my I’ll find my own I’ll find my own way home I’m going home How do you get so good at silence?

Acquiesce 02:01
And you know You’ve gone too far this time I can see it in your eyes. And your silence says it all You're resigned to the fall Brace yourself ‘cause it’s not easy And I don't want to take you there No one’s claimed that life was fair You know kama isn’t real Just some shitty people You’re the strongest that I know Your punches always packed a blow There’s no holy judge of grace Just some shitty people Keep your expectations low Be prepared to let them go For all the bad there is some good And just some shitty people

about

Pulleys, Weights, and Strings is our 2nd album, and the follow up to our 2021 debut, Leave the Day Behind. Where as Leave The Day was a very long time in the making, and mostly newer recordings of older songs that needed some closure, Pulleys was written, recorded and tinkered with over the last few years. Whenever we thought it was finished, something exciting and new would pop up that just seemed to belong in this collection, so that delayed it a little. Sometimes it's best to just let these things play themselves out, which is the approach we took.

It goes without saying that we are deeply appreciative of anyone that finds us and gets something out of what we have produced. So if that's you, please feel free to drop us a note.

Thanks, as always, to Rob, Boyd, family and friends.
